Après sa toute première série consacrée à la capitale des Ducs de Bourgogne « Dijon, renaissance de ses monuments disparus », Germain Gallet a choisi de nous faire redécouvrir les monuments disparus de Paris.
Il commence à travailler sur ce nouveau thème à partir de 2019.
Les Grandes Expositions Universelles de Paris, notamment celle de 1889 et 1900, le fascinent. Des édifices sublimes et extravagants comme le palais de l’Electricité ou bien le palais du Trocadéro lui donnent matière à exprimer son art à travers la modéligraphie®.
Vous découvrirez aussi la tour Eiffel dans sa couleur originelle avec ses arcades au premier étage, aujourd’hui disparues.
D’autres lieux emblématiques comme Montmartre, son maquis et ses cafés ont également été une source d’inspiration lui permettant de faire revivre les hauts lieux festifs artistiques et littéraires de l’époque comme le Rat Mort, l’Abbaye de Thélème ou bien la nouvelle Athène par exemple.

Following his very first series dedicated to the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, “Dijon: The Rebirth of Its Lost Monuments,” Germain Gallet has chosen to help us rediscover the lost monuments of Paris.
He began working on this new theme in 2019.
He was fascinated by the Great World’s Fairs in Paris, particularly those of 1889 and 1900. Sublime and extravagant structures such as the Palais de l’Electricité and the Palais du Trocadéro provided him with inspiration to express his art through Modéligraphie®.
You’ll also see the Eiffel Tower in its original color, complete with the arcades on the first floor that are no longer there.
Other iconic places like Montmartre, with its maquis and cafés, were also a source of inspiration, allowing him to bring back to life the major artistic and literary hotspots of the era, such as the Rat Mort, the Abbaye de Thélème, or the Nouvelle Athène, for example.
